Greetings and welcome to “Needles of the North,” formerly known as “Pens by Fred.” Fred, that’s me, and “pens” that one of the categories of things I make, there is, however, much, much more! I love to write. I like to read what others write even more. I’m not young, it makes a difference by slowing me down. I’ve studied how people get old and that helps. Oh, yeah, I’m a social gerontologist and theologian by training (MAG – Bethel University 2003, M.Div. – Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary 1967). What is more, I have a world view that is based on studying the ancients and contemporary authors and philosophers . In all the years in between then and now, I’ve made sawdust in one shape or another and primarily preached the Gospel! My first lesson in wood working came at the hands of my grandfather, Max Claassen, when I was 6 years old. Now, mylearning curve is enhanced by frequent and regular use of the internet.
I welcome you to join me as I take the next steps along the course set out before me. I’m not sure where I’ll end up on this side of eternity, but you’re welcome to climb on board and share the ride. My email address is: <firstname.lastname@example.org>
